Lacking app

Positives:
I downloaded and my iPod connected to my iPad quickly and the video looked good. Sound works good to.

Negatives:
If I lock my iPad or switch to a different app the connection is lost. I have to go back upstairs to my iPod to reconnect. It should reconnect so I can check the video when I want to and still use my iPad. Id like to be able to lock the iPod and keep the connection too.
